Weaker exports reduce clinker production at Toral de los Vados, Spain

Clinker production at Cementos Cosmos' Toral de los Vados factory in Spain declined by 10 per cent in 2015 to 600,840t. The drop in production has been mainly attributed to lower exports. Votorantim’s Spanish subsidiary Cementos Cosmos has announced that the Toral de los Vados cement works is set to increase shipments by some six per cent in 2014 to 0.67Mt. Of this, exports will account for around 185,000t with 53,000t going to Haiti, 44,000t to Ghana and 35,000t to Brazil. EUR2.5m is being invested during December to improve efficiency.

Cementos Cosmos’ Toral de los Vados cement works in Spain increased clinker production by six per cent this year to 670,000t. Some 185,000t of the plant’s output has been exported, including 35,000t to Brazil, 44,000t to Ghana and 53,300t to Haiti and 52,700t to the Canary Islands. In addition, Toral has also shipped 35,300t of bulk cement to Madeira via the port of Marín, Pontevedra.
